What may initially seem like a contradiction - elegance inspired by the vagabond life - is the underlying idea behind Hobo shoes, which have gained many followers and enthusiasts for over 20 years. Ferdinand von Haeseler once traveled through America and drew inspiration for Hobo shoes from the "vagabond life" - the hobos. Previously, he ran a small hippie store called Malefiz in beautiful Münster, where he sold boots from the still peaceful Afghanistan, along with incense sticks, soaps, and fabrics from the Orient. When exports from Afghanistan stagnated, a coincidence during a vacation in Portugal led Ferdinand von Haeseler to start a small production and begin producing Hobo shoes directly in Portugal. For over 20 years, Hobo shoes have been made, evolving into iconic boots similar to Dr. Martens, combining inspiration from hobos, high quality, and a touch of elegance through the use of fine leather.

Carefully selected leathers are used for the boots and shoes, striving for vegetable-tanned, low-emission, and chrome-free tanning whenever possible. Handcrafted in a small workshop in Portugal by experienced and long-standing employees, Hobo boots not only possess a unique value but also shape the character of each individual shoe.
