If you take good care of your trippen or Think shoes by making sure you wear them fittingly, that you give the leather of your shoes the time needed to dry and absorb moisture, they will keep for many, many years and thus, become trusted companions. In addition to the soles, which will wear out over time, your shoelaces might tear and your foot bed and inlays should be replaced occasionally.
For those reasons some of our manufacturers offer a repair service for their sustainably produced, upscale leather shoes. For example, you’d be able to have the foot beds, the inlays, and the shoelaces replaced. To ensure the overall concept of your shoes is carried out, the responsible cycle of natural materials, fair production processes, comfort, as well as longevity is ensured.

If you take good care of them, shoes made from high-quality, naturally-tanned leather will keep for many season. Thusly, your shoes will carry you through life, remain a trusted friend - as one might say - a real favorite of yours that you’ll want to wear all the time and can’t live without. 

Such shoes have to be taken care of properly as they wear down over the years; not the leather of course, but the soles, foot beds, inlays, shoes laces might need to be replaced. Even after years the interior and exterior leather will be in a great condition, therefore, you might hesitate to throw them away and just buy new ones and instead consider to have them repaired. 

As our manufacturers produce the shoes with sustainability in mind, repairs, soling etc. aren’t just possible, they are strongly encouraged. In order to enjoy your favorite shoes for much longer we offer you a repair service that allows you to replace the soles with the original trippen and Think soles they came with when you bought them.

 

 

What is the timeline for the replacement?

There are four easy steps:

 

 

 

1.

It would be easiest to contact us
regarding any repairs you want done via email (hello@mbaetz.com). That way we’d be able to advise you if it’s possible to replace the soles and give you an estimate of the costs.

 

 

2.

Send the shoes that need to be repaired to

Please include your personal information (name, address, e-mail, and or phone number) - in case we have further questions - as well as a note telling us what needs to be done.

 

 

3.

We’ll check your shoes in detail and send them to the manufacturer.

 

 

4.

After the manufacturer mails them back to us with the repairs you had requested, we’ll ask you to transfer the amount for those repairs.
You can do that either via credit card or paypal (or you can also pay for it in cash at the store). After we receive the money we’ll send you your shoes and you can enjoy them for many more years.

Frequently asked questions:

1. How much do the new soles cost?
Depending on the manufacturer the costs vary; for Trippen shoes the repair of soles costs approx. € 59.00. Repairs at Think  will be approx. € 49.00. These costs include shipping to our store. And as we’ll be delivering it to your doorstep, we’ll charge € 5.50 additionally.

2. Can the soles of shoes be replaced that were not bought in the mbaetz store?
Yes, we offer repair service even for shoes that you didn’t purchase at our store.

3. How long does it take to have the soles replaced?
Depending on the amount of work that has to be done it will take between 4-6 weeks.

4. Can the manufacturer replace the soles more than once?
Think won’t replace the soles more than once due to technical difficulties. The manufacturer will leave an inscription under the inner sole [inlay] of your shoes after you’ve had the soles replaced. Before you send us your shoes, please make sure that there’s no such indication as we cannot send in your shoes for repairs again.

5. I’ve had repairs done in a shoe repair shop but now want the manufacturer to replace them with the ones the shoes came with?
Don’t worry. This won’t be a problem in most cases as the manufacturer can still replace the original soles.

6. Can I have repairs done in the spring, even though the shoes are from the fall/winter season?
You can send in your shoes regardless of the season they belong to. The repairs will probably still take between 4-6 weeks, so it would be best if you have your shoes repaired when you can live without them - though it might be hard to get by without them.

Spare shoelaces

If your shoe laces need replacement, we’ve got you covered. Send us a short note and we’ll send you new laces for your shoes. In order to identify the model, you can either send a copy of your receipt, a photo of your shoes, the article number or - in the case for Think  shoes - the number that is inscribed on the inside of the shoes, the shoe size and the color of the leather so that we can find the correct shoe laces.

Walking on sunshine

New inlays and footbeds

It is an affordable luxury to replace your shoe’s footbed and/or inlays. Your shoes will feel as if you just bought them even though you’ve already worn them in and they perfectly fit the shape of your feet.

Therefore, we encourage you to replace the footbed and inlays of your favorite shoes approx. once a year. After the substitution of the old with the new, you can enjoy the comfort of your favorite pair as you walk through life.

To make sure that we can find the inlays and/or footbeds that fit your shoes you merely have to send us a photo of your shoe or your receipt, the name or ID number of your shoes, or the number which is inscribed on the inside of your Think shoes for example, as well as your shoe size.
